RRI Beneficiaries In Abia State Applaud FG Initiatives

Beneficiaries of the Rapid Result Initiative (RRI) in Abia state have commended the present administration for providing free medical care to the poor in Nigeria. The programme is an initiative of Federal Government aimed at delivering service to the under privileges across the 36 states of the federation and FCT.
Patients accompanied by their relatives, who benefited from the programme converged at the Federal Medical Centre Umuahia to thank President Muhammadu Buhari for providing resources to the Centre to carry out free surgeries to poor patients.
The beneficiaries took advantage of the occasion of the visit of the hon. Minister of Health Prof. Isaac Adewole to the FMC Umuahia on Wednesday, 25th February, 2017.
Among the beneficiaries of the programme who expressed gratitude was Mr. Friday who was operated hernia. Mr Friday who spoke vernacular said that since the establishment of FMC Umuahia, there was never a programme that provide free medical surgeries to patients in Abia State. He commended the President, Hon. Minister and the Staff of FMC Umuahia for rendering the services to them.
Mrs. Glory Ujaka a trader said she was very skeptical when she heard about the Programme, she was later operated tumor hernia. “She said I did not pay anything, I didn’t even pay even needle money, God who did this to us I pray that He should do it to others” she concluded.
Another beneficiary, named Douglas Okechukwu from Bende Local Government of Abia State thanked Mr. President for providing free healthcare service to the poor. He said “ I want to thank President Muhammadu Buhari because since I was born I have never be a beneficiary of anything from the government , but now I have benefited from Eye glass from the present RRI Programem , I have been praying, I must say the truth because I am before God, I prayed that God will help President Buhari and give him wisdom to rule this country”.
Ochenye Chidimma a young girl who benefited from the programme also said, “I just finished my NYSC in Akwa-ibom State I was operated hernia, I want to use this opportunity to thank President Muhammadu Buhari, the Hon Minister of Health, and the Medical Director of the FMC Umuahia for the free surgeries rendered.
Earlier, the Hon Minister of Health Prof. Isaac Adewole said that President Muhammadu Buhari provided the resources for the free surgeries. It is a clear indication that the President cares for everybody in Nigeria especially the poor and vulnerable.
He said the programme is just for the poor, regardless of color, religion or tribe, “I want to congratulate you, take care of your selves, continue with your drugs, if there is anything disturbing you let us know, we pray that God will heal you.
The Minister said the programme which started in 2016 will continue in the year 2017.
