Multi – National Companies Called to Support Healthcare Policies in Nigeria
The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Health, Mr. Linus Awute, has called on Multi –National Companies operating in Nigeria to support Healthcare policies in the Country.
Mr.Awute stated this on 04 September 2015, when he received in audience a delegation from Agip Energy and Natural Resources Nigeria limited, a subsidiary of the Nigeria Agip Oil Company (NAOC) led by Mr. Lorenzo Ceccolini during the presentation of the two set of Infrared Thermoscreen Camera for body temperature in the Ministry.
The Permanent Secretary express appreciation towards the presentation, he also affirmed that solving health issues is not only the responsibility of the Ministry but all relevant stakeholders. He said further that all hand must be on deck to tackle Ebola and other health related issues in Africa. This is to ensure that post Ebola period is sustained.
Speaking earlier, the Senior Advisor Sustainability, Agip Energy and Natural Resources Nigeria, a subsidiary of NAOC, Mr. Lorenzo Ceccolini, said that the infrared thermoscreen for body temperature is to monitor Ebola and other health related diseases.
He point out that he is in the Ministry to seek collaboration and support with the FMOH, pledged the commitment of Nigeria Agip Oil Company towards Health related issues, he added.
In his remark, National Coordinator, Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC), Prof. Abudulsalami Nasidi, thanked the NAOC for the presentation of the equipment and encouraged them to strengthen their partnership with the Federal Ministry of Health.
