The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Daju Kachallom mni has extolled the virtues of visionary leadership and collective strength as a sine quanon to drive positive change in the Ministry and, health sector.
"It is a call to action. A call to all of us to recognize the power of leadership that envisions the future, the strength of unity that carries us forward, and the potential within each of us to be a catalyst for transformation in the health sector".
Daju Kachollom stated during the commemoration of Union Week of the Federal Ministry of Health & Social Welfare: themed "Visionary Leadership, Collective Strength: Driving Transformational Change".
Expatiating further on the theme; the Permanent Secretary highlighted the critical importance of visionary leadership in an organization.
She averred that it is not all about
setting goals, it is about inspiring action and rallying people to work together towards a common purpose.
For emphasis and clarification, she said: " It is about understanding the challenges before us, while also recognizing the opportunities for growth and innovation that lie ahead.
In the Ministry of Health, this means striving to create a healthcare system that meets the needs of every Nigerian, providing accessible, affordable and quality care to all", the Permanent Secretary added
She therefore, seized the opportunity of the Union week to adminish the Staff on re-dedication and commitment to values that underpin work-integrity, professionalism and service to Nigerians, ensuring that the vision we set today becomes the reality of tomorrow.
"Let us use this week as a reminder that every step no matter how small, taken with purpose and dedication is a step toward the transformational change we desire", the Permanent Secretary affirmed.
On Staff welfare, Daju Kachollom assured of management's commitment to promoting their welfare towards achieving harmony and productivity in the work place.
Earlier, the Chairman, Central Working Committee of the Joint Union in the Ministry; Comrade Ebu Clement Oleo stated that the theme perfectly encapsulates the essence of what the Union stands for. Comrade Ebu Clement stated it emphasizes the power of visionary leadership and, the strength that comes from unity.
On behalf of Staff, he expressed their appreciation and commendation of the unwavering support and dedication of the top management of the ministry to staff welfare as well as, the success of the union activities.
Highlights of the colourful event graced by Top Management Staff featured the presentation of Excellent Performance award plaque to the Permanent Secretary Daju Kachollom mni, with other awards to selected staff who had distinguished themselves in the course of unionism.
It is pertinent to state that the Union week is dedicated for celebration, reflection and renewal of the values that drive workers as a unified force for positive change in the ministry and by extension, health sector.
