MANDATE OF GENERAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT
The
Department of General Services was created by the Office of the Head of Civil
Service of the Federation (OHCSF) through Circular Ref. No. HCSF/CMO/EM/234/17
dated 11th March 2014. The Department was carved out of the
Department of Human Resource Management (HRM) in all the MDA’s.
General
Services Department provides conducive working environment for all staff of the
Federal Ministry and its Agencies, it also provides leadership and best
practices in managing Facilities, Supplies, Security and Resources
Conservation, Maintenance and other Support Services to the Health Sector in a
reliable and efficient manner.
The Department is responsible for institutionalizing a Maintenance Culture in Ministries, Departments and Agency’s (MDAs) for sustainability. The purpose of the Department is to coordinate the Management and Maintenance of all assets of the Ministry.
VISION
To institutionalize maintenance culture with a view to minimizing waste.
MISSION
To use cost effective means in ensuring that Government assets are maintained and serviced at regular intervals.
